A POPULAR Herefordshire attraction has taken the decision to shut at the end of this month.

The visitor centre at Chase Distillery in Preston Wynne, near Hereford, is set to close its doors after four years of showing visitors the skills that go into making its award-winning range of gin and vodka.

Any pre-booked tours will be valid until the end of July. Anyone who has a tour booked after the end of July should contact the distillery.

The visitor centre was recently awarded a Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award for 2022.

These reward accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10 per cent of properties on the travel website.

Chase Distillery was founded by entrepreneur William Chase in 2008 and has a portfolio which includes seven gins, four vodkas and an elderflower liqueur.

The range of spirits is distilled from scratch using British-grown potatoes, apples and all-natural botanicals on Chase Farm in Herefordshire.

The distillery was taken over by spirits giant Diageo last year.

A statement on Chase Distillery's website said: "We have taken the difficult decision to close the visitor centre at our distillery in Herefordshire at the end of July 2022.

"We are supporting the growth of Chase across the UK through experiences all year round in partnership with hospitality outlets to build a future for the brand.

"We have a number of these events and installations live now and more to follow in the year ahead."
