A NEW food truck has set up in a Herefordshire village.

Jayne’s Tucker Truck can be found along the A465 in Allensmore, just up the road from Locks garage, and its flags can be spotted at the side of the road from Monday to Friday.

Owner Jayne Owen, of Peterchurch, bought the food truck 18 months ago but the Covid pandemic stopped her plans and she did not think it would go ahead.

But when the pitch came up in Allensmore she took her chance.

"I jumped at it," she said.

Ms Owen previously worked as a careworker for 21 years, which is what brought her to Hereford. But when she turned 50 this was the cut-off for her.

"I have always loved cooking and entertaining, I wanted to do something different."

From 7am to 2.30pm Ms Owen will be providing locally sourced ingredients, including bacon, sausages and black pudding from Golden Valley Meats, eggs from Downfield Farm, and bread from the Laughing Bloomer.

"I have tried to source as many local products as I can," she said.
