HEREFORDSHIRE Football Association (HFA) will have a completely renovated home after investment of over £300,000 was confirmed.

The news comes after the HFA secured external funding through its partners the Football Association, the Football Foundation and Herefordshire Council.

The money will be used to completely renovate its building at the County Ground and extending its car park facility.

After a competitive process, the successful tenderer Thackway & Cadwallader will be commencing work on January 10, with a scheduled build of 20 weeks.

During this time the office will be closed, but pitch will remain open.

The refurbished building will include brand new national league system compliant changing rooms, two meeting rooms available for external hire and refurbished spaces for the HFA’s office team of 10 staff.

The HFA is entering into a three-year partnership with SSAFA (Herefordshire), The Armed Forces Charity, with the refurbished site becoming known as The HFA SSAFA County Ground.

The SSAFA provides lifelong support to those who are serving or have served army, navy, marines or the air force, and to their families.

Alan Darfi, Herefordshire FA chief executive said: “Having worked on these projects for a while now, it is great to finally be in a position to release details of what promises to be an incredibly exciting development for the HFA.

“The refurbished building promises to deliver an exceptional service for all our users, including those hiring our 3G all-weather pitch facility and meeting rooms, during the daytime or evening."
