A NEW log cabin holiday let could be built in a Herefordshire village, if plans are approved by the council.
A planning application has been submitted by to change the use of some land near Bromyard and site the log cabin for use as a self-catering holiday let.
In the application, submitted to Herefordshire Council on behalf of Mrs S Hatt by agent Claire Rawlings, said the log cabin would be on an existing area of hardstanding at the house in Munderfield, near Bromyard.
"The site consists of an area of concrete hard standing where a building was previously located and is adjoined by the garden of Greenacre to the north and west, an existing garage, driveway and the property of Greenacre located to the north, with a paddock to the east and a hedge to the south," a design and access statement said.

"It is proposed that the area of existing hardstanding is used as a base for the log cabin which will be used as self-catering holiday accommodation."
The consultant proposed there would be space for two cars, as well as cycles, with the current access onto the B4214 Bromyard to Ledbury road kept as it is.
"The log cabin will be single storey in height and made of slow grown spruce with a roof constructed of tongue and grove boards as illustrated in the submitted images which have been supplied by the applicant," the statement said.

"The timber cladding will ensure that the structure integrates well into the rural landscape.
"The cabin’s floor area is 12.5m x 6m and includes two bedrooms, one bathroom, an open plan kitchen and living area which leads out onto a veranda which forms the main aspect."
