A HEREFORDSHIRE cider producers wants to be able to sell its products on site as well as launch an online shop.

Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry has asked Herefordshire Council for a licence to sell alcohol at its farm in Peterstow.

The application to be considered by the council said: "Ross-on-Wye Cider and Perry Ltd has been producing ciders and perries for many years.

"In light of recent national developments they would now like to create a taproom on site for on and off [premises] sales, and in the meantime develop an off sale offering through internet, mail order and telephone sales with home delivery."

The company has applied to be allowed to serve alcohol from 10am until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, with the time extended until Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Currently the firm sells its cider from the Yew Tree Inn in Peterstow, but the licence, if granted, would allow it to do so from a barn at Broome Farm.

Consultation on the proposals, which say Michael James Johnson would be the premises supervisor, ends on Wednesday (May 19).
