FIFTY sheep have died near Herefordshire's border with Wales, with police officers investigating the "livestock worrying" incident.
Sharing the graphic picture on social media, Gwent Police said dozens of ewes were found dead in a field in north Monmouthshire
Sheep, or livestock, worrying is where the animals are attacked or chased by dogs.
The National Sheep Association (NSA) said in some circumstances, farmers are legally entitled to shoot dogs if they are endangering sheep.

"It is vital that you keep your dog on the lead around livestock, even if you can usually trust it to come to call," the association said.
"If you live in or near a farming area, you must make sure that your dog cannot escape from your property, as it may find its way onto land containing sheep."
Gwent Police, who didn't give a specific location where the crime took place, added they are investigating and it was "being taken seriously by all".
Much of north Monmouthshire borders Herefordshire and Powys.
