A CAFE in Bromyard has closed after several staff and customers tested positive for coronavirus.

BREW coffee shop in High Street, formerly The Snugg, will stay closed until at least January 4 as staff self-isolate for 10 days.

The shop reassured customers that if they needed to self-isolate, they should be contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

"We now have to keep Brew closed until the January 4, we are really gutted to be doing this but unfortunately a handful of our customers and ourselves have all tested positive for Covid in the last few days," the cafe said in a Facebook post on Boxing Day.

"We want to reassure everyone that the track and trace has come into play and have contacted the relevant people, every customer that has needed to be contacted has been already through track and trace.

"We are really really sorry if this has been you but unfortunately working with the public during this pandemic is a risk we are all taking, we closed Brew off our own backs initially as soon as we knew a customer had tested positive that had been in the shop.

"Please be reassured we will be giving Brew an extra deep clean before reopening on January 4."
