ANOTHER 11 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Herefordshire, latest official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 2,573 people in Herefordshire had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 since March, as of 9am on Monday (December 7). That figure was up from 2,562 the same time on Sunday.

Since last Monday (November 30), 112 people in Herefordshire had received a positive Covid-19 test result.

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE.

The Government website says the last five days' data is incomplete, thought to be due to a delay in results being processed.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases rose by 14,718 over the period, to 1,737,960.

Herefordshire's cases were among the 175,361 recorded across the West Midlands, a figure which rose by 1,334over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

Separate figures from NHS England show no more coronavirus-related deaths have been reported at the Wye Valley NHS Trust in Herefordshire.

Some 76 people have died at the trust after testing positive for coronavirus, as of 4pm on Sunday (December 6).

The Government said a further 189 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Monday, bringing the UK total to 61,434.

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 77,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK. This includes 143 in Herefordshire.
