A STAFF member at a Hereford school has tested positive for coronavirus, with the school "continuing to monitor the situation".
Hereford Academy said it had been "made aware" that a member of the school community had received a positive test, but said it had no concerns around pupils attending school.
Michael Stoppard, headteacher at the school in Marlbrook Road, said in a letter to parents on Monday: "To re-assure this is a member of staff and is a single case
"There is, therefore, no concerns around attending the academy as there were no symptoms whilst the member of staff attended school and all contacts have been identified.
"There is no impact on year groups and this is a precautionary measure. This case is treated as a single case by Public Health England."
He added that while parents might find it concerning, the school will continue to monitor the situation and has worked closely with Public Health England.
It is the fourth case at the school since November 12.

"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child," he added.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness.
"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well."
