A YOUNG Ludlow School student has been demonstrating her skills in the kitchen.
Katie took part in the finals of the AIP Young Chef of the Year competition at the University of Birmingham.
Having won her place in the finals against stiff competition from other students at Ludlow School, Katie, a year 10 student, headed off to Birmingham to cook beetroot and butternut squash ravioli, with spinach puree and an orange butter sauce.
The competition was judged by a team of professional chefs led by acclaimed chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Contestants were judged on their preparation, planning, presentation and taste.
Katie came home with an I-pad, signed cookery book, a set of chef’s knives, hat, apron and chef’s whites. Katie will also get to spend the day in the development kitchen to hone her, already considerable, skills.
