BERLIN: German Chancellor Angela Merkel said yesterday she was against tax rises of any kind if she is re-elected in September.
Ms Merkel had previously said she is opposed to tax rises proposed by the opposition Social Democrats, who want to make the wealthy pay more. She argues raising taxes will not necessarily yield higher tax revenues.
