POLICE have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a suspicious incident in a Swindon alleyway.

At approximately 8.30pm on Monday, August 24, a 16-year-old girl was walking home along an alleyway in Ferndale Road, near Surrey Road, when she became aware of a man sat in a car.

The man told the victim to get into his car. She refused and ran off.

He is described as Asian, aged in his mid 20s, with dark, short, spikey hair. He had no facial hair and was of a large build.

It is believed he was wearing a dark blue t-shirt and appeared to be on his own in the vehicle, which is described as a dark coloured saloon type vehicle, with the letters A, Z, and the number 0 within the registration plate. The front number plate was broken and hanging off, and the front passenger head rest appeared to be ripped.

The vehicle was parked in the alleyway at the end of Surrey Road.

PC Simon Peet, community beat manager for Rodbourne and Cheney Manor, said: “Inquiries are ongoing at this stage but we would particularly like to hear from anybody who was in the area at the time who may have seen a man acting suspiciously, and anyone who may recognise the man pictured.”

Anyone with information should call PC Peet on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
