Herefordshire remain at the bottom of the NCCA T20 Group 4 table following a double defeat to Cornwall at Eastnor.

In the first match, Herefordshire struggled, losing by seven wickets after being bowled out for just 100 runs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, they lost Ollie Cox in the first over.

Although George Rhodes (22) and skipper Luke Tulacz (18) provided some resistance, wickets fell steadily, and Herefordshire could not build a significant partnership.

Cornwall’s Alex Blake was the standout performer, scoring an unbeaten 50 to guide his team home comfortably in the 15th over.

In the second match, Herefordshire showed much improvement. Tulacz again chose to bat after winning the toss, and this time, the team posted a respectable 141-six.

Contributions came from Ollie Cox (12), Toby Cox (22), and others, but it was Seth Essenhigh (23 not out) and Hasan Mahmood (21 not out) who finished strongly, adding 32 runs in the last 20 balls.

With a competitive total to defend, Herefordshire’s bowlers fought back well.

Rhodes took three wickets for just 22 runs, while Hasan and James Rudge also claimed crucial wickets.

However, Cornwall's Will MacVicar (39) and Billy Taylor (19 not out) were able to steer their side close to victory.

A spectacular diving catch by Luke Powell delayed the inevitable, but Cornwall eventually clinched the win in the final over.
