A HEREFORD boxer will be bidding to win a second Midlands title next month in front of a sold-out crowd.

Liam O‘Hare won the Midlands Super Middleweight title in November last year by stopping Derby’s Jack Hutsby.

The Hereford boxer is now scheduled to fight Tom Brennan for the vacant Midlands Middleweight title in front of many of the big names in the world of boxing.

The red carpet Excelsior Sporting Club event will be staged at the Premier Suite, Cannock on the March 21.

The show is billed as one not to be missed with a blend of black tie luxury, fine dining, and top rate boxing.

Certainly, the Excelsior Club’s St Patrick’s Day show looks special with former Irish American heavyweight contender Gerry Cooney, who had that famous world title clash with Larry Holmes, amongst the VIP guests.

O’Hare, 27, tops the bill and is excited by the opportunity to add to his Super middleweight title and continue his journey towards becoming the British Middleweight champion in the near future.

It has been a meteoric rise for this local athlete who remains undefeated and his last two victories coming by way of knockouts.

“Before, I had a lot going on and I was quite up and down,” said O’Hare. “Now I’m 100 per cent focused and things are coming together well.

“What can I achieve? I feel the ceiling could be quite high. I have my eyes set on a British title and beyond.”

It will be a big night for O’Hare as he looks to bring back another champions belt to Hereford.

The show is a sell-out but O’Hare does have a very limited number of tickets available for those who would like to share the experience. Anybody interested can contact him direct on social media or through his website teamohare.co.uk
