LEOMINSTER Hockey Club face an interesting final weekend of the Davis Wood season with both of their sides in the promotion shake-up.

The first-team beat Bristol UWE 3-2 in the Conference North to go joint second on points with West Wilts who have a superior goal difference.

Jon Davis and Rob Goodman gave Leominster the advantage but the students hit back to level before Harry Ellis flicked home the winner.

The club's second string are also third in Marches 1 after knocking Bourton & Sherborne off the top with a 3-2 win.

Leominster could do with county rivals Hereford 2nd, who face new leaders Gwent on Saturday, doing them a favour.

Hereford's first-team need a win or a draw to see them safe from relegation in De Cymru and Marches 1 after a 2-1 home reverse by Cardiff & Met 3rd.

After a goalless first half, Cardiff took the lead when a cross deflected in off a Hereford player but Danny Makaruk levelled Cardiff grabbed the winner four minutes from time.

A hat-trick from Monty Rudge and one from Jonny Cross gave Ross a 4-2 win at Neath.
