TWO goals apiece from Stuart Fleetwood and Mathieu Manset earned Hereford an FA Cup third-round tie at Wycombe on Tuesday.

But they will have to do without Ryan Green for the clash at Adams Park after the Bulls defender was sent off seconds from the end after collecting a second yellow card.

After the Bank Holiday Monday success at Aldershot, biss Jamie Pitman was able to announce an unchanged team for the replay at Sincil Bank.

This brought a return to Lincoln for former Imps favourite Janos Kovacs.

As a counterbalance, ex-Hereford marksman was named on the Lincoln bench.

Both sides were able to name only six replacements as they went in search of the £27,000 prize money.

Hereford were fortunate to survive a third minute scare when after some haphaqzard defending, Adam Bartlett pulled off an excellent save to deny Ashley Grimes.

But the Bulls swept downfield and Mansset seized on a Kenny Lunt pass to slide his 10th goal of the season past Joe Anyon.

Bartellt, however, was almost immediately back in the action, diving low to keep out another Grimes header.

The keeper was beaten, though, on seven minutes when Townsend failed to deal with a cross to the back post and Bartlett was beaten by Jamie Clapham from close range.

Grimes, a constant danger in the opening phase, deflected a Mustapha Carayol cross past a post on 10 minutes as the action continued unabated.

Hereford were right of luck when a Fleetwood rocket smacked against a post in the 17th minute as the Bulls attack posed plenty of threat.

And Fleetwood had another chance moments later when he fired over after a good run by Ryan Green.

But Lincoln also went close with a diving header by Luke Howell just clearing the bar.

And it was the home side who went in front on 24 minutes.

Facey beat Townsend in the air, and with the Bulls skipper floundering advanced into the area before beating Bartlett with a shot into the corner.

The Imps drew confidence from their goal and almost added another when Carayol headed straight at Bartlett.

The Bulls keeper punched out an Albert Jarrett free-kick after Ryan Green had been yellow-carded for a foul on Carayol.

Hereford, rather against the odds, drew level on 35 minutes.

Manset found some space on the left and crossed for Fleetwood to crash home left-footed from close-range.

And the Bulls should have taken the lead in the 42nd minute when Townsend, from a yard out, headed up and against the bar from a McQuilkin free-kick.

The next goal was delayed, though, by just seconds, with Fleetwood curling a sublime shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

But within three minutes of the re-start, an almost carbon copy by Grimes had left Bartlett grasping thin air and the scores were level again.

Hereford continued to attack and only a last-gasp tackle prevented Fleetwood, in the clear, from receiving McQuilkin’s pass.

From the corner, Kovacs somehow contrived to head over from a yard out when he was unmarked to meet McQuilkin’s cross at the back post.

It was hard to take your eyes off the action for a moment with Grimes next to go close, cracking a shot from Jarrett’s cross just wide.

Grimes was then allowed to advance 30 yards before driving a shot past an upright from diustance.

Hereford struck back to regain the lead on 71 minutes when Lunt neatly turned the ball inside to Manset who crashed the ball home from 15 yards.

But Jarrett almost squared the account within seconds with a flashing drive which screamed over the bar with Bartlett beaten.

Joe Heath almost surprised Anyon with a 35-yard free-kick before Hereford wer denied a penalty when Manset was clearly tripped in the area.

McQuilkin squirmed past three defenders before bringing a save from Anyon with a low drive before, at the other end, Facey drilled one just over.

As the minutes dripped away, Bartlett somehow managed to grab the ball off Grimes’ boot on the goal-line.

Deep into injury-time, Hereford were reduced to 10 men when Ryan was sent off for handball, his second yellow card of the day.
