LADS Club face their first team going out of existence if they can't find a new backer for next season.

The Widemarsh Common side have just completed their first season in the West Midlands Premier finishing mid-table and were the beaten finalists in Monday's HFA County Cup.

Last summer their County Ground was developed to include new floodlights and a covered spectator area ready for their promotion from Division One.

However, manager Danny Moon said that the increased cost of travelling expenses and officials amounting to £5,000 alongside the loss of a main sponsor could see the first team fold.

"We're struggling to run next year and whether we are going to have a team or not is purely down to funds," said Moon.

"We have lost our main sponsor and anybody out there that could help us would be great. We've come a long way in a short time but whether or not we're going to have a side next year is down to whether or not we can find sponsorship from external sources.

"We've got the players but have got no money and have got to find a decent amount to keep us going. That's not paying players but the running costs for everything else which is about £5,000.

"That's the first team seniors and whether we can add anything onto that we desperately need people to come and help us really. If there is any businesses out there we are desperate to be fair.

"We've had a great year and have grown so much but with growing comes better leagues, travelling costs and officials. Our officials cost was around £3,500 this year and it's a big cost and we are struggling to exist.

"A new sponsor or anybody who can help or fundraise, I'm open to ideas."
