HEREFORD Lads Club Ladies are just one win away from clinching the Mid-West Counties Female League title.

The County Ground side host Welland on Sunday (2pm) knowing that a victory will secure them the crown.

Last weekend they hosted Wyre Forest, who had beaten them in their last two meetings at their own ground with a narrow pitch.

However, on the much more expansive County Ground the hosts were able to play the style of football which has seen them win 14 of their 17 league fixtures this season.

Wyre Forest were an equal match in the first half which ended goalless despite some good play from both sides.

After a team talk from Coach Clive Powis, Lads Club headed out ready for the second half and a clear objective.

The players started to utilize the full pitch, playing some good football.

It took until mid-way through the half when Elle Williams and relieved the pressure from her side.

Lads Club added further pressure and created several chances before Sophie Turner netted a brace to secure the 3-0 victory and to move her side to one win of the title.
