HEREFORD United have cut ticket prices for next Tuesday’s local derby with high-flying Forest Green Rovers.

But Bulls fans will first need to attend Saturday’s home clash with Cambridge United as their ticket from the weekend’s game will act as a money-off voucher.

“We are conscious that supporters have been travelling up and down the country following the team in a difficult financial climate,” said chairman David Keyte .

“We have three occasions this season when a Saturday home game is followed by another on a Tuesday and we saw what happened the first time when the gate against Woking for the Tuesday night game dropped to under 1,500.

“We have very loyal supporters and this is a small gesture to them. We all need to stick together.”

Adult prices are reduced by £6 and concession prices by £5 for the Forest Green match for those with vouchers.

Meanwhile, after two bad away defeats at Hyde and Dartford, boss Martin Foyle has received some welcome good news with striker Marlon Jackson fit for selection for Saturday.

“Marlon has been back in training for the last 10 days and is raring to go,” he said.

The Bulls chief has, however, lost loan striker Tom Nichols, who has been recalled by Exeter City, and the non-contract arrangement with Tristan Plummer has ended. “I thought it was time to change the pack,” said Foyle. “I’ve had a good look around now and have some irons in the fire. “But the attitude of the players is good; I just need some of the younger players to grow up more quickly than they might have done and take responsibility.”

Michael Townsend (sore back) is still likely to be sidelined at the weekend but there is more encouraging news of Chris Carruthers (heel) and Simon Clist (ankle).

“The last three second-halves of matches have been very poor,” admitted Foyle. “There were no real leaders on the pitch, which was a disappointment, so we have gone back to a total team ethic and looked at our shape and positional play.”

The Hereford boss added: “All of the players have taken home a DVD of the game at Dartford to look at their performances.”
