Norton United 2 Westfields 5.

WESTFIELDS’ reward for an excellent FA Cup first qualifying round 5-2 win at Norton United is a trip to Conference North outfit Solihull Moors - three divisions above the Hereford-based side.

Moors are likely to include former Hereford United duo Karl Broadhurst and Jordan Fitzpatrick. Fields’ chief executive Andy Morris admitted he was disappointed with the draw but did feel it was a winnable tie.

“There are other clubs we would have preferred to have faced,” he said.

“But we have to go there now and try to progress further.

“It will be a great test for our players and one cup tie we will really look forward to.”

At North West Counties League Norton, Westfields made a great start and were three goals to the good after just 15 minutes.

Jamis Cuss fired home from a fine pass by Richard Kear and added his second after eight minutes when Will Loughman’s shot was only partly cleared.

Kear’s shot from the edge of the area completed Fields’ dream start.

Richard Smith pulled a goal back but Aidan Thomas restored the three-goal advantage when he scored with a left-foot shot after good work by Joel Edwards and Kear.

Dan Brown pulled another back for Norton but Will Loughman rounded off a fine afternoon for the city side when he rifled home after a Kear shot was charged down.
