Ellesmere Rangers 3 Bromyard Town 1 WITH a number of first-team regulars unavailable, Bromyard paid the price as they went down to another West Midlands League Premier Division defeat.

Only poor finishing prevented the home side from establishing early control and it was Bromyard who went closest when Arron Drake s shot was well saved by the home goalkeeper.

Ellesmere finally broke through two minutes before the interval when a defensive mix-up between Rob Woodward and Rob Dew allowed Dan Graham to open the scoring.

The visitors went close through Woodward and Craig Malins at the start of the second period, but, with Bromyard down to 10 men following an injury to James Banks, Rob Onions added a second for the home side and Rob Costello quickly added a third to take the game beyond Town's reach.

With 10 minutes to go, Bromyard did succeed in pulling a goal back when Tony McLean netted following a Drake free-kick and they might have reduced arrears still further in the closing stages but for some poor finishing.

Veteran goalkeeper Andrew James had an excellent game for Bromyard and his performance was central in keeping the score down.
