JAMES Dobbs has been selected to play for England Schools in a Home International clash against Scotland.

The 18-year-old from Rosson- Wye secured his place after finishing third in the English Schools National Championships at the Kendleshire GC in Bristol.

James finished just one shot behind the eventual winner and will be competing for England in September.

James has just graduated from Hartpury Academy and the Bristol tournament was a fitting climax to his two-year spell.

He was a key member of the Hartpury College team which reached the finals of the Intercollegiate Tour, individually finishing second in the Order of Merit.

James has been selected for the Gloucestershire squad during 2012 and performed well in county matches.

He plays at Forest Hills and Ross golf clubs.

Richard King, academy manager at Hartpury, said: “James has shown what can be achieved with dedication, commitment and hard work.

“We wish him the very best of luck for the remainder of the season and for his international appearance in September.”
