FITNESS fanatic Ged Musto — holder of four world and seven British records — says that he will still carry on doing up to 500 push-ups and sit-ups a day despite approaching the age of 50.

The Leominster personal trainer has been heavily involved in fitness ever since he was in the Army in 1987 and finished third in the British Cross- Training Championships in 1992.

But the 48-year-old’s biggest break was when he achieved his first official world record in 1995 by doing an astonishing 2,467 press-ups in an hour — a record that still stands to this day.

“It just started from there really. I decided to go for stamina and endurance records, like tricep dips, and was looking for 30 minute and an hour records,”

said Musto, who is one of the top-10 personal trainers in the UK.

“I still do all the stamina and endurance stuff and utilise all of the facilities around me.

“I’m not far off the big 50, but I am a prime example of what you can achieve in their late 40s."
