NEW loan striker Lyle Taylor is determined to pass the screen test at Edgar Street.

The 21-year-old Londoner has appeared in television commercials for Nike.

“I can’t seem to get away from this,” joked the Bournemouth loan man.

“Just before my first game, the Hereford gaffer said he’d seen that I had been doing some modelling.

“I just looked at him and laughed.

“I did it with Andy Ansah’s company, who do all the adverts for football and he’s good to work with.

“I did the Nike World Cup commercial and it paid the bills.

“Andy’s got the DVDs and, if I ever need them, I will go to him.

“But football is where I want to be. I will do my best for Hereford to keep myself in the game.”

Taylor, who played for Middlesex FA, has been on loan at Lewes and Woking.

“I have not had a great deal of experience.

“I need to go out and get games and prove to the manager that I am able and capable of playing at that level.

“I’ve got a good grounding but playing League football is where I want to be.”

The striker made his United debut after replacing Delroy Facey against Cheltenham.

“I had a chance — I hit a post — it would have been nice to see that sneak under the keeper.

“I am a centre-forward by trade but if the manager sees fit to play me wide, then I am comfortable with that.

“They’re a good group at Hereford.

“We have a good laugh and there’s good banter in training.

“I like it here and it’s a good club to be at.”
