DRESSAGE rider Alice Hurley secured a hat-trick of wins in the Spanish Horse National Championships at Hartpury.

Alice, from Hoarwithy, trained and rode three four-year-old Spanish stallions owned by Karen Bourdon and Mark Pitman.

She also gained the highest score of the day and was presented with the Linda Lawrence Trophy awarded at the grand parade.

Alice shone at the first dressage event, winning on Marques with 73.91%, coming second on Resuelto with 69.13% and third on Deseado with 68.26%.

At novice level, Alice won on Deseado with 74.14% - the highest score of the day.

The horses were entered for the four-year-old Stallion class the next day and Deseado claimed first prize and the Best Movement Trophy.

Alice is now aiming for the first British International Purebred Horse Show at Keysoe in Bedfordshire.

Alice has just graduated from the University of the West of England at Hartpury with a degree in Equine Science.
