Wellington 1 Westfields 3

WESTFIELDS have won the HFA County Challenge Cup after a hard-fought final in the sunshine at Edgar Street this afternoon.

The city club avenged their 2009 cup final defeat to Wellington.

Westfields have now won the County Cup for a record-equalling 10 triumphs.

A brace from ex-Hereford United youngster Mark Hibbard inside the opening 27 minutes put Westfields 2-0 ahead against county rivals Wellington.

Hibbard headed in the opener after six minutes and then grabbed his second goal from the penalty spot in the 27th minute.

Wellington skipper Dale Withers reduced arrears in an action-packed first half with a brave header eight minutes before the break.

Wellington substitute Matt Williams rattled the bar early in the second half.

Westfields marksman Daryl Addis pounced in the 78th minute to slide home their cup-clinching third goal after a lapse in the Wellington defence.

Westfields duo Scott Jackson and Phil Glover lifted the trophy for Sean Edwards' men.

In claiming the silverware, Westfields will now host Hereford United at the beginning of next season for the HFA Senior Cup.
