THE Eastnor yard of trainer Nicky Sheppard provided the shock of the day at the rearranged Harkaway Club point to point meeting at Chaddesley Corbett on Monday whenUpThere took the Men's Open race.
Sent off at 14/1 in the 12-runner race behind the favourite and multiple winner Horsham Lad, the Eastnor runner, partnered by James Ridley, hit the front at the third last.
Up There responded well to his rider's efforts and, at the finish, Ridley’s mount had five lengths to spare.
Awinner to watch at the course was that of owner Jo Hitchings and trainer Andy Hobbs who sent out the ex-irish Over The Phone to take the Club Members Restricted.
Ridden by Tom Weston, the Irish import drew clear over the final two fences from the Sam Waley-Cohen mount Ashtown Boy, who was sent off a 6/4 favourite in the 11-runner race.
