Hereford United have parted company with manager Simon Davey and his assistant Andy Fensome.

The club have terminated their contracts after a poor start to the season which has seen the club slump to the bottom of League 2.

United have secured just one win and four goals from their opening 10 games.

United chairman David Keyte said: "As a club we are bitterly disappointed and deeply concerned at the results and performances so far this season and feel we have to take action."

The search for a new manager has now started and the club hope to make an appointment as soon as possible.

Jamie Pitman, the club's sports therapist, will take charge of the team on a caretaker basis.
