A CRICKETER who has performed on India’s leading stage heaped anguish on struggling Colwall in Division 1 of the Worcestershire County League.

Gagandeep Singh, who played in the Indian Premier League in 2008, fired third-placed Redditch to an emphatic eight-wicket win over Colwall at Stowe Lane.

Tim Riley (60) and Odge Davey (53) top scored for t h i r d - f r o m - b o t t o m Colwall but Singh snapped up 5-52 to restrict the hosts to 208-9.

Southwick (99 not out) and Gailey (88) led the way for Redditch who cruised to the target in the 45th over.

Bromyard lost ground on the top-four after a crushing eight-wicket defeat against Romsley & Hunnington at Flaggoners Green.

Opener Ashley Bullock (63) was the bedrock of Bromyard’s innings but the hosts collapsed from 112-3 to 162 all out.

Zahid Saeed (23) and Dean Corbett (23) were the only other Bromyard batsmen to make contributions while Craig Bray took 5-25.

An unbeaten century from John Terry helped Burghill & Tillington to a 226-run battering of bott o m - o f - t h e - t a b l e Rushwick in Division 2.

Terry struck 100 not out and was the mainstay in fifth-placed Burghill’s impressive 341-4 at Brick House Farm.

Monmouth climbed back to third position after a convincing sevenwicket home victory over Hagley.

The Welsh club made an early impression with the ball, reducing Hagley to 51-4 at the Sports Ground.

Jonathan Roberts (4-28), David Teague (3-59) and Cole McConchie (2-44) were chiefly responsible for restricting Hagley to 198-9.

Teague (58) and Dan Head (32) gave Monmouth a flying start with a quick-fire opening stand of 88.

New Zealand Under-17 international McConchie (76 not out) was in belligerent form and swept Monmouth home in the 33rd over.

Wormelow opener Chris Powell scored a century as the Division 3 tabletoppers were held to a winning draw in an exciting finish against Cookley.

Powell struck 102 and was supported by the hard-hitting Shaun Waldron in Wormelow’s 248-8 at Cookley Sports and Social Club.

Jason Fowler (5-28) and Steve Wild (3-24) got down to work but Cookley held out at 186-9 to deny Wormelow an outright win.

Canon Frome remain in trouble near the bottom of the table after a fivewicket home reverse to fourth-placed Stourporton- Severn.

Half-centuries from Jack Evans, James Tiffen and Bruno Warwick could not stop Ross from a fivewicket reverse at Bromsgrove 3rd in Division 4 South.

Evans (62), Tiffen (57) and Warwick (50) starred in Ross’ 261 all out but Bromsgrove triumphed with six balls to spare.
