Hereford United’s longest-serving player, Richard Rose, is predicting an exciting brand of football.

“The football that Simon Davey’s wanting to play is going to be more attacking and it should be entertaining for the supporters,”

he said. “I would urge the fans to come down and watch us because it’s going to be exciting,” said Rose, who signed a one-year deal on Monday.

Fans will get their first chance to run their rule over Davey’s new-look United side against Ledbury Town on Saturday.

The Bulls face Ledbury in the HFA Senior Cup final at New Street and then host Swansea City in a friendly at Edgar Street next Tuesday.

Ledbury boss Ben Symons is excited about facing United’s new charges this weekend.

“Hereford have a new manager, new owners and a lot of new faces, including Stuart Fleetwood, so we’re looking forward to it.

“It’s a chance to pit our wits against a Football League team and it’s a cup match so both teams can only play three substitutes.”

Saturday’s match kicks off at 3pm and there will be an overspill car parking area at Ledbury Rugby Club.

United will be launching a new Ronnie Radford Challenge at an open day at Edgar Street on Saturday, July 24.

The open day will run from 11am to 2pm and supporters can meet Hereford’s players and watch a first-team training session.

Supporters will then have a chance to emulate Radford’s wonder goal by attempting to score from the exact spot where the midfielder struck in 1972.

United vice-chairman Tim Russon said the club would be renovating all of the ground’s toilet blocks and building new dugouts.

Fans forums with boss Simon Davey will be taking place on Thursday, July 15 at Radford’s at 7pm; Wednesday, July 21 at Leominster’s Rankin Club at 8pm and Tuesday, July 27 at Eastnor Cricket Club at 7pm. There is also a ground painting day for fans at Edgar Street on Saturday, July 17 from 10am.
