SILVIA Connor was the emphatic winner of the Cate Hughes Cup at The Herefordshire GC.

Connor triumphed with 36 points from second-placed Fran Horobin (25 points).

Pam Millington carded 39 points to take first place in the ladies’ stableford. Karen Darby also played well and was the runner-up with 37 points.

Jo Ware pipped Claire Harding on a countback to secure the top position in Division 2. Both players finished with 35 points.

Pat Gibbons, with 36 points, won Division 3 from second-placed Hazel Socket (35 points).

q Sharon Helps and Pat Rhodes won the Claret Jugs & Ping Competition at Burghill Valley GC.

Helps and Rhodes beat Marilyn Howard and Helen Green on a countback after both pairs shot 33 points.

Vicky Howells and Becky Lloyd were third with 32 points.

Howard and Green secured the Ping Pairs prize.

q Julia Grant-Duff, Anne Bruckshaw and Erica Atkins shot 80 points to win the away day Bowmaker event of Ross-on-Wye captain, Wynne Pearson.

Di Honey, Jill Oates and Alison Harvey were second in the competition at the Worcester Golf & Country Club.

Atkins also won the prize for longest drive and Ellie Peake was nearest the pin. While a team from Bristol and Clifton won the Senior Open Team Event, Harvey was part of trio which finished second.

q C Urry topped Belmont GC’s May Medal for the Caroline Charles Underhill Cup.

Urry carded 93-11-82 and second-place went to A Ball (113-29-84).
