HEREFORD United will be looking to complete a double success in their must-win League 1 derby clash at Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

The Bulls saw off the Robins 3-0 at Edgar Street back in November when former Cheltenham striker Steve Guinan was on target twice.

Sam Gwynne hit the other goal for the Bulls who were inspired by a debut clean-sheet from on-loan Wolves goalkeeper Matt Murray.

Murray has long since returned to the Championship club where he is making a good recovery from the serious knee injury he sustained during the Bulls’ defeat at MK Dons.

Murray’s replacement that night, Craig Samson, is the latest Bulls player to join the injured list.

The former Scotland under-21 goalkeeper will undergo surgery on a groin problem on Monday and faces a spell on the sidelines.

With Samson absent, United will be desperately hoping on-loan Liverpool youngster Peter Gulacsi returns unscathed from international duty with Hungary under-20 in Italy and will be ready to make his Hereford debut at Whaddon Road.

Gulacsi is likely to be joined in the side by fellow loanee Febian Brandy with the pacy 20-year-old partnering Guinan in a new-look strike pairing.

Clint Easton (groin) and Stephen O’Leary (back) are still on the injured list but Turner had no other fresh injury worries.

The whole squad travelled to Wolves for a practice match on Tuesday where Turner made nine changes at half-time and a further two 15 minutes from the end to give everyone a taste of the action.

“Cheltenham is a vital match for us,” admitted the Bulls chief. “Throughout the season there are certain defining matches and this could be one of them.”

With the sides occupying the bottom two places in the division, the loser will face a huge task to avoid relegation to League 2.

Hereford entertain Leeds United in an all-ticket clash at Edgar Street next Tuesday, kick-off 7.45pm.
