HEREFORDSHIRE lost out narrowly in their final Inter County Champion-ship group clash with Warwickshire at the Larruperz Centre in Ross.
It was a closely-fought contest with the morning sessions ending on equal points but with Warwickshire slightly ahead on shots.
The afternoon sessions followed a similar pattern with the teams ending the day on 16 points each. But Warwickshire had pulled ahead on shots thus winning seven of the eight bonus points giving a final result of Warwickshire 23 points (186 shots) and Herefordshire 17 points (160 shots).
Tony Vitale in the singles and David Watkins with Tim Horton Smith in the pairs won both of their games.
Herefordshire will now meet Norfolk in the Preliminaries part of the competition at Kettering in Northampton at the end of this month.
