HEREFORDSHIRE Schools Under-15 crashed to a 6-0 defeat against Stoke in the West Midlands Schools League.
Stoke dominated the early stages but Hereford missed two chances to open the scoring when they tried to pass the ball into the net.
Herefordshire goalkeeper Dale Brooke (John Kyrle) made two great saves before Stoke scored twice to lead 2-0 at the interval.
Although Zac Sirrell struck the inside of a post and Josh Wilding (St Mary’s) fired over, Stoke hit four second-half goals to seal a comfortable victory.
Stoke looked a strong, attacking side and are expected to do well in the English Schools’ Trophy this season.
Herefordshire Schools Under-13 collected a point from a 0-0 draw with Telford in their league match at Fownhope.
Defences were on top throughout the match and both sides were pleased with a draw.
