THREE Herefordshire rugby clubs will face do-or-die scenarios in their final round of league matches this Saturday.

Luctonians, Hereford and Ledbury could seal promotion play-off spots with victories this weekend.

Should they lose, however, the three clubs could suffer the final-day heart-break of narrowly missing out.

Luctonians moved up to second place in Midlands 1 with a hard-fought 36-10 home win over Newport yesterday.

The Mortimer Park club led just 17-10 after 50 minutes but pulled away in the last half-an-hour.

They have leapfrogged Broadstreet into the play-off spot after their rivals lost 17-15 at home to South Leicester.

Luctonians are now one point above Broadstreet with one match remaining.

Luctonians travel to sixth-placed Kenilworth this Saturday, while Broadstreet are at lowly Dunstablians.

Hereford could still win Midlands 2 West after a comfortable 30-5 home win over Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday.

The Wyesiders are just one point behind table-topping Malvern and two points ahead of third-placed Walsall.

Malvern remain top after a 27-15 home win against Burton, while Walsall hammered bottom club Newbold, 88-7.

Hereford know that a win at Bromsgrove this Saturday could either give them the play-off spot or hand them the title.

Malvern travel to Solihull, while Walsall have a home match against Cheltenham North in the final round of matches.

Ledbury face a final-day shoot-out with Midlands 4 West (South) promotion rivals Old Coventrians.

Ledbury remain second after a 46-10 home win over champions Spartans yesterday.

However, Ledbury are level on points with Old Coventrians, whom they travel to face in this Saturday's divisional match of the day.

Old Coventrians warmed up for the play-off decider against Ledbury with a crushing 49-7 win at Old Leamingtonians.
