HEREFORD moved top of the National League North after recording their sixth victory in eight league games.

Aaron Downes’ side recorded an emphatic 3-0 win at Harborough Town – with the newly promoted Leicestershire side falling to their first home league defeat since April 2025.

Harrison Iwunze continued his scoring spree by netting the opener, before further goals from Cawley Cox and Danny Waldron sealed the away points.

Hereford came into the game following a 2-1 home win at the weekend and Cox showed his early sharpness before miss-hitting his effort which was comfortably saved.

Cox continued to cause the Bees defence problems and capitalised on a goalkeeping error, before seeing his shot blocked.

Loanee Harry Tustin was also looking an early threat and his half-volley forced a fine save by goalkeeper Elliott Taylor.

Hereford’s defence needed to be alert as Harborough found a response and William Merrett was forced to head a dangerous Callum Powell ball into the box.

Former Hereford midfielder Samuel Osborne was also a threat to his former side’s goal and his powerful free-kick forced a fine save by Theo Richardson.

The Bees came out in the second half on the front foot and Riley O’Sullivan controlled the ball well before seeing his effort denied by Richardson.

However, it was Hereford who took a 50th minute lead after Cox caused trouble in the home defence and Iwunze fired home the loose ball.

The Bulls continued to push for a second goal and Luke Spokes’ corner was headed just over by full-back Joseph James.

Hereford doubled their lead on the 64th minute mark after Billy Phillips drove the ball forward, before Cox capitalised and steered home his first league goal for his home town club.

Richardson was key in Hereford’s performance and from a free-kick the Bulls goalkeeper saved point-blank from George Carline

A turning point could have came on 73 minutes when Richardson was fouled after punching away a free-kick. The Bulls goalkeeper reacted angrily sparking pushing and escaped with a booking, along with two Harborough players.

Moments later Powell had Richardson beaten, after running through on goal, but saw his effort denied by the crossbar.

Harborough continued to probe for an equaliser and Alex Morris was left in space from a corner, but the defender headed wide from six yards out.

Substitute Dempsey Arlott-John also tested the Bulls goal and saw his effort deflected into the side-netting.

The points were secured in injury time when substitute Keziah Martin broke away and found Spokes and then Danny Waldron to beat the goalkeeper.

Hereford: Richardson, Skinner, Kandola, Merrett, Tustin (Bitemo 74), Cox (Waldron 74), Spokes, James, Iwunze (Martin 88), Phillips (Williamson 80), Howkins

Unused subs: Roberts, Lewis, Tolley

Hereford have another tough test on their hands this weekend when they host full-time outfit South Shields, who arrive at Edgar Street having won five of their seven league matches so far this season. The North East visitors sit two points behind the Bulls but have played a match fewer.
