Westfields moved three points clear at the top of the Hellenic League Premier Division with a commanding 5-0 victory over Thornbury Town at allpay.park.
The hosts produced arguably their best 45 minutes of the season in a blistering first-half display, combining attacking flair with ruthless finishing to put the visitors firmly on the back foot.
Their breakthrough came after 13 minutes when Will Dallaway rose highest to meet a Bailey Fuller corner and powered a header into the net.
Westfields doubled their advantage just six minutes later.
A flowing move carved open the Thornbury defence and Tyrese Sibanda applied the finishing touch with a clinical strike to make it 2-0.
The home side continued to dominate and Dallaway grabbed his second of the afternoon, volleying home in spectacular fashion to extend the lead and cap a superb individual performance that earned him the man-of-the-match award.
There was still time for a fourth before the interval as Sibanda headed in at the far post from Joe Hunt’s long throw, sending Westfields into the break with a commanding 4-0 advantage.
Thornbury improved after the restart and enjoyed more possession, but they found Westfields’ defence in resolute form.
The league leaders continued to look dangerous going forward and added a fifth goal when Reiss Taylor-Randall swept home Yuri Quintas’ cross from the right.
Manager Danny Janes introduced four substitutes as Westfields comfortably saw out the closing stages and maintained control of proceedings.
Janes was delighted with both the result and the performance.
“When you win 5-0, it's easy to talk about loads of positives but there were today,” he said.
“Really good footballing performance.
We've got some really technical players and, with how we set up, we saw that in the game.
“It's nice when you coach and manage.
You want to see certain things on the pitch in terms of how it should look, and it looked exactly as we planned it to.
“It's nice to score five goals and it's a second clean sheet in a row as well, so overall delighted.”
Janes added that a settled squad is beginning to gel and said he wants his side not only to win matches but also to play attractive football.
Westfields are next in action away to Mangotsfield United on Saturday.
