HEREFORD PEGASUS Development experienced stoppage-time heartache when they were beaten 3-2 by UDA Gloucester in the Hummel Herefordshire League Premier Division under the KGD Stadium floodlights.

The hosts had an opportunity to open the scoring in the fourth minute but Callum Maddy saw his penalty saved by Nassim Chehmani.

Pegasus broke the deadlock after 25 minutes when Harrison Summers broke free on goal and lifted the ball over the advancing Chehmani.

The visitors equalised three minutes before half-time when Connor Muir fired a 20-yard rocket into the top corner of the net following a good passage of play around the edge of the penalty.

UDA Gloucester went close to taking the lead within two minutes of the restart when Shane Pierson cut inside off the left flank but struck the outside of the far post with his strike.

Summers drove into the visitor's penalty area eight minutes after the break but was denied by the legs of Chehmani before running on to a 72nd minute through ball but was unable to keep his strike under the crossbar.

The students went close less than 60 seconds later when Shane Pierson pulled a low shot across the face of goal.

The midfielder then put his team ahead for the first time when he eventually forced the ball over the line from a 77th minute corner.

However, Pegasus were back on level terms with 10 minutes remaining when Luke Bufton found the back of the net with his low driven free-kick from the edge of the penalty area. It appeared that the two teams would have to settle for a share of the spoils until substitute Ethan Jones ran on to a well-timed pass from Keaton Bienusa before lifting the ball over the home custodian to seal a dramatic victory and maintain UDA Gloucester's unbeaten league record.
