BAILEY FULLER scored a second half equaliser as Westfields came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw with lowly Royal Wootton Bassett Town at Allpay.park on Saturday .

Danny Moon’s have not won in their last three league games and on Saturday had to come from behind to earn a point.

Fields’ failed bid for a home win was not helped by having to play the last 10 minutes with 10 men after substitute Zac Powell received a second yellow card and was sent off.

Westfields looked disjointed and struggled to find their rhythm although they went close to opening the scoring but Cameron Davies headed over the bar from a left wing corner.

The visitors then took the lead in bizarre fashion when a long clearance by the Bassett keeper bounced into the Fields goal area and skipper Harrisison Iddles and keeper Shay Sterry got in a tangle, which left Finlay Hopkins with an easy task to accept a gift opening goal with a simple tap in.

Two minutes before the interval Westfields keeper Shay Sterry redeemed himself with a fine save after he tipped a stinging drive over the crossbar as the visitors went into the interval with a 1-0 lead.

After the break Moon’s side tried hard to get level but it was Sterry who saved at the foot of the post then plucked a dangerous cross out of the air to keep the home side in the game.

Fields eventually pulled level on the hour when their opponents only cleared a corner kick to the edge of the penalty area and Fuller riffled home a low shot into the bottom corner of the net to make it 1-1.

Westfields then sent on substitutes Zac Powell and Lewis Rose in a bid to grab a winner.

However, the home side got frustrated by the well-organised young Bassett defence and Powell was yellow carded twice in a 10-minute spell to leave the hosts with 10 men and an uphill task for the last 10 minutes.

Westfields then had a let off in the dying minutes when Wootton Bassett striker Kassa Anderson got through on goal but fired wide with only Sterry to beat.

Meanwhile, Pegasus came back from two goals down in the second half to Longlevens 3-2 thanks to goals from Carlos Moreira, Jordan Williamson and Matt Green.

Next Saturday Westfields travel to Pershore Town and Pegasus head to Roman Glass St George.
