A YOUNG Hereford FC and Hereford Lads Club footballer has been selected to join the FC Bayern World Squad for two matches in America.
Promising Hereford under-18 midfielder Arwyn Walby has featured for the first team in cup matches this season, while also featuring in the Hellenic League for Hereford Lads Club.
He joined the FC Bayern World Squad to take on Inter Miami and D.C. United.
The FC Bayern World Squad is an international project between the German club and Volkswagen.
The scheme select under-19 players from across the world to play for the side as they chase their dream of becoming a professional in the game.
Amongst the coaching staff is former Bayern striker Roy Makaay, World Cup winner Klaus Augenthaler and Christopher Loch.
The team will also hold a training camp abroad as and will face Bayern Munich’s under-19 side in the summer.
The FC Bayern World Squad will feature in a documentary to be shown in the autumn on Bayern Munich’s YouTube channel and their club website,
Earlier this year Walby helped a Wales Schools under-18s side to win the Roma Coput Mundi Tournament.
