HEREFORD have signed ‘exciting’ winger Chay Tilt as boss Paul Caddis feels he deserves an opportunity to shine.

The 26-year-old right sided midfielder has joined from non-league step four side Sporting Khalsa.

Tilt started his career as a West Brom academy player before moving to Stourbridge, Macclesfield, Tamworth, Redditch and Hednesford.

“Chay is a player who is really exciting on the eye,” said Caddis to the club’s website.

“Sometimes in life people need opportunities and we feel Chay is at that stage of his career now.

“He has really exciting attributes and I know he has a hunger and desire to get his career back on track.

“I know with the support of my staff and the supporters we will get him back to enjoying his football and see the exciting player he is.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Chay and welcoming him to the club.”

The Bulls have also re-signed 20-year-old central defender Mark Derricott, who graduated from their under-18 side.

Derricott was the only survivor from the 2022/23 squad under Josh Gowling but suffered a ‘significant’ back injury last season.

The young defender was sent on loan to Bromsgrove Sporting and helped to keep them in the Southern League Premier Division Central.

“We are continuously working around the clock to bring in signings,” added Caddis. “It’s difficult, but we are working to bring in the right players for the club and we won’t just sign anyone.

“The Squad Builder has a direct impact on what players and what type of players I can bring into the football club.”
