CAWLEY Cox scored his 10th league goal of the season to help Hereford Pegasus to a 3-2 victory over Mangotsfield.

Cox netted two of Pegasus’ goal to move him to joint top in the uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division leading scorer charts.

Visitors Mangotsfield should have been well and truly beaten before half-time as the “Redmen” squandered several goal opportunities.

As it was, they had to come from behind to a Jadyn Crosbie penalty just before the break.

Cox levelled with a strong shot from level with penalty spot shortly after the restart on 52 minutes

The Pegasus marksman doubled his tally 10 minutes later with a shot inside the far post across goalkeeper Jakob Glover.

The visitors had a spell of dominance when Pegasus were temporarily reduced to 10 men whilst Carlos Moreira was in the “sin bin”. Despite the pressure the visitors were unable to reduce the deficit.

In the third minute of stoppage time Nathan Chowns-Higgs raced away down the right before squaring a brilliantly weighted ball into the path of Harry Pitman.

Pitman scored his first goal after his return to the club from Westfields where he made his senior debut.

The drama continued three minutes later when the hosts failed to clear a corner when Marcus Kelly scored from close range. 

Despite the visitors reducing their deficit Pegasus held on for their sixth league win from 14 games.

Hereford Lads Club extended their unbeaten home record in the Hellenic Premier with a fine 3-2 victory against Highworth Town.

Danny Moon’s side started with a bang as Kieran Dovey shot wide moments before Sam Judge fired them ahead.

The visitors scored each side of half-time to take the lead early in the second half. However, Brandon Jennings brought the hosts level and then fired home the winner.
