BURGHILL, Tillington and Weobley celebrated a successful season for the club with their presentation evening.

The firsts, after promotion last year, consolidated to finish mid-table.  The seconds finished runners-up and the thirds, fourth in Marches Division 3.

The junior section won the U11 HCL cup and the U13 the ECB cup and semi-finalist in the HCL cup. 

The awards were presented by Junior Coordinator, Krissie Stevenson and were as follows:

Firsts: 

Batting – Sam Williams with an average of 47; Bowling – Ben Hawkes 42 wickets; Fielder – shared by Ben Oyston and Craig Lane; Player of the Year – Mohammed Hassan.  He made himself available for every match.  Scored 529 runs including two tons, two 50s and bagged 28 wickets. 

Seconds: 

Batting – George Stevenson.  Very talented young cricketer.  454 runs including three 50s.  He also scored a ton for the thirds; Bowling – Amy Maund 25 wickets; Fielder – Arshad Bhat; Player of the Year – Amy Maund.     

Thirds: 

Batting – Rufus Darke 249 runs including two 50s and 121 against Bartestree; Bowling – Tim Davies 13 wickets; Fielder – Kieran Dover; Player of the Year – Maddy Gillett.  Talented cricketer with 17 wickets including a fifer against Strollers.   

The Spirit of the Thirds – The award went to Craig Lane.

Most Valuable Player (MVP) – Ben Hawkes with 99 points.  78 bowling points, nine batting, five fielding and seven winning team.

Most improved player: Rufus Darke.  In all matches, he scored 446 runs, with a top score of 121 for the thirds. He took 17 wickets with a best of 8-1 in a friendly against Bromyard.
Club person – Kate Morgan for her management of the U13s, grass cutting and strimming duties and teas for the thirds.
