JUNIOR Golfers at a Herefordshire club are celebrating a successful season participating on the Shropshire and Herefordshire Pee Wee Championship Tour.

The qualifying rounds for the Pee Wee tournament were held at Oswestry, Bridgnorth, The Shropshire, Shifnal and The Grove in Leominster.

As well as hosting a qualifying round The Grove was well represented in the tournament, despite being one of the smaller clubs.

Owen Davies led the way and won all five of his events to win his section in the Pee Wee Championship Tour.

Haydn Price did likewise and won four out of five events to win his section of the tournament.

Leo Crowther won his event at the Grove and was placed very highly in three other events to finish second in his section of the tour championship.

The club were also represented by many other participants this year who regularly spend time at The Grove for their junior coaching sessions.

All of the Grove juniors have been guided through their development by PGA Professional Gary Morgan and his experienced team.

Morgan said: "The Grove is a great facility, which enables us to develop all Juniors through all aspects of the game from beginners to established players.

"Our Juniors have regularly represented Shropshire and Herefordshire, performed well in County Championships and have developed into fine adult players.”

Anybody who would like their child to give golf a try should contact the club to reserve a space on their Saturday morning sessions on 01568 610602.

A golf players session takes place between 9.30am and 10.30am, while a beginners only session is between 10.30am and 11.30am, clubs provided if required.

Coaching sessions are normally limited to eight-10 people per session, which allows the professional to dedicate more time per attendee.
