A YOUNG Herefordshire batsman was the leading run-scorer in last week’s Taunton cricket festival.
Fifteen-year-old Archie Langford hammered 292 runs in Herefordshire’s four matches, two of which – against Gloucestershire and Washington, USA – were won and two – against Norfolk and California – were lost.
Against Washington, the teenager, who plays his club cricket at Wormelow, smashed 20 fours and eight sixes as he raced to an impressive 176.

Hereford and District (Thurso Scotland 450miles): After a one day holdover the birds were liberated at 6.30am for the longest race of the season and the winner was timed in at 4-23 for the 450miles the bird also won 1st Welsh National Flying Club
