TWO HEREFORDSHIRE women’s hockey side will meet this weekend after both finding life hard in the West Women’s Division 2 West this season.

Leominster Ladies sit bottom of the table after suffering a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of title challengers Bristol & West Japers on Saturday, despite a hard-working performance at Bridge Street Sports Centre.

Hereford are just one place above them in the table with the county rivals meeting on Saturday for a 10.30am match at Hereford Leisure Centre.

Colwall & Malvern are in contention at the top end of the Severn Division One sitting just four points behind the leaders after picking up 15 points from eight matches.

Kington play their women’s hockey in the South Wales Hockey League in the Premier 2 division alongside Presteigne Ladies.

Kington sit in fifth after eight games with a fantastic away record of three wins from five away trips with their troubles coming at home with three defeats.

Presteigne sit at the opposite end of the table with just one win from their opening five matches.

Radnor Ladies play their hockey in the South Wales Division 1 and have had a mixed start to the season picking up five points from seven matches.

Meanwhile, Leominster men are holding their own in a tough West Division 1 North competition sitting within the reaches of mid-table.

Ross-on-Wye men are battling it out for the title in Division Two East in which the top four sides are separated by a single point.

Finally, Hereford men sit top of the Cotswold Division One after winning six of their opening eight matches losing just one match.

Hereford’s goal tally is also an impressive one scoring 34 goals so far this season and conceding just 11.
