THREE early goals helped Westfields to a 3-1 victory over a young Hereford FC XI in their final pre-season outing at allpay.park on Thursday night.

Phil Glover’s side started quickly and scored a sensational goal in the 12th minute with Josh Hunt sending a shot from outside the box which flew into the top corner.

Westfields continued their quick movement against a young Hereford side and increased the lead when Sam Griffiths got on the end of a right-wing cross to tuck in a shot at the far post to double his side’s advantage.

Fields looked out of sight when a third goal came when Dale Richards headed home at the far post from a left-wing cross.

However, Hereford came back into the game just before the interval with the youngsters pulling a goal back with a crisp shot from just inside the penalty area.

Last weekend Westfields’ new signing Jack Gittoes scored two goals inside 10 minutes as his side took a 3-1 friendly victory at Brixham.

Manager Phil Glover took a big squad to the Seasiders and trailed 1-0 at the break through a penalty.

After making a number of substitutions Fields responded and early in the half new Gittoes, who recently signed from Kington Town, netted twice to put Westfields in front.

Fields then secured the win when Sam Griffiths scored the third goal to give Westfields a comfortable win in a half in which Dan Stoneman looked really impressive.

The win came days after Glover’s side welcomed Monmouth Town to allpay.park for a pre-season friendly running out comfortable 5-2 winners.

Westfields raced into an lead early in the first half when leading goal scorer from last season Hunt opened the scoring.

After recently signing for Fields Harry Pitman scored his first goal for the club and that was quickly followed by Kyle Cassell who blasted home from 20 yards out to make it 3-0.

Monmouth gave themselves a foothold in the match pulling a goal back shortly before the interval.

However, after the break Stoneman increased Fields’ lead with a fourth goal and then in the latter stages Harley Morris grabbed a fifth goal to give Westfields a comfortable win.
