BARTESTREE and Lugwardine firsts continued their climb up the Worcestershire County League Division 2 with a third win on the bounce.

Hosts Bredon elected to bat but wickets fell at regular intervals thanks to bowling from Ryan Trattell who took six wickets for 57 runs.

Bredon struggled with the swing and were eventually skittled out for 164.

In response Matthew Tulacz 72no and Nick Freeman 27 put in on an opening partnership of 120.

Will Maund saw out the tie for Bartestree hitting two sixes in a row to win the game by nine wickets.

In the Marches League, Wormelow kept their pressure on the top three sides with a convincing six-wicket win at Fownhope Strollers.

Wormelow 1st XI made the trip to Fownhope Strollers 1st XI in Marches League Division 1.

Batting first Fownhope were well placed on 135-2 before a batting collapse saw them slump to 148-8, before eventually being bowled out for 165.

Richard Lerego top scored with a patient 40 whilst for the visitors, skipper Luke Jones picked up 4-17 including a hat trick where all of his victims were clean bowled and young spinner Isaac Evans bowled well to take 4-35.

In reply, opener Monty Kennerley batted well throughout the innings to finish on 79no and he received good support from Archie Langford (32) and David Thomas (32) as Wormelow reached their target in the 36th over to secure a six-wicket victory.
