HEREFORDSHIRE farmer Roger Chilman used last weekends Woodpecker Stages as preparation for events later in the season.

With regular co-driver Patrick Walsh away on an another event Iwan Jones had the job of guiding Chilman through Radnor Forest where the entire event was being held.

The event was a round of both the BTRDA and Welsh championships but also attracted a very strong historic field.

Five stages were on offer for the crews and straight away it was Barrett and Chilman leading the historic battle swapping seconds over the opening three stages and going into stage four they were dead level.

But sadly for Chilman a puncture caused him to lose three minutes leaving Paul Barrett and co-driver Gordon Noble to take the historic class win.
