LUCTONIANS suffered a 27-8 away defeat at Hull in their opening match on the National League 2 North.
The Mortimer Park side were without a competitive game last season but had been in friendly action in the build-up to the campaign.
After an even opening to the game Hull kicked into the corner before pushing over the opening try.
Hull then broke from the restart to gain a 12-0 lead at the break.
Tom Jones kicked Lucs back into the game before Tom Smith scored an unconverted try.
However, Hull regained control scoring a penalty and two further tries to secure the win.
This weekend Luctonians have their first home match in over 18 months when they face Chester (3pm kick-off).
